The Euonymus alatus is one of the best shrubs for autumn colour. The ovate leaves produce a breathtaking autumnal display of vivid scarlet and deep purple; a truly magnificent sight. This shrub also offers interest in early winter when its reddish purple fruits burst open to reveal bright orange seeds. For the rest of the year this shrub has glossy green leaves which gently arch and curl at their tips. The 'alatus' is a great shrub that is often planted as a specimen.
